Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking experienced Class A Welders to join an industrial fabrication team in the Owasso area. This senior-level welding position is responsible for performing code-quality welding in accordance with ASME requirements, interpreting complex blueprints and engineering drawings, and maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
The ideal candidate has extensive multi-process welding experience, a complete understanding of applicable ASME code requirements, and the leadership ability to assist with training and developing Class B and Class C Welders and Fitters.
Required Experience & Skills
Advanced welding and industrial fabrication experience
Complete understanding of applicable ASME code requirements
Proficiency with applicable FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding specifications
Ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring devices
Strong understanding of welding equipment, tools, and fabrication processes
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Strong commitment to quality, productivity, and workplace safety
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform welding operations according to applicable ASME code requirements
Utilize FCAW (Flux Core), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) processes as directed by departmental leadership
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications
Prepare parts, tools, materials, and equipment for planned fit-up and welding activities
Participate in pre- and post-production readiness activities
Measure and verify components using tape measures and other measuring devices
Safely operate and maintain welding machines, powered tools, manual tools, and related fabrication equipment
Inspect work throughout the welding process to maintain established quality standards
Collaborate with team members to complete projects according to specifications and production schedules
Identify welding, fabrication, equipment, or quality concerns and take appropriate corrective action
Support continuous improvement initiatives within assigned areas
Maintain clean and organized work areas according to 5S procedures
Follow all company safety protocols and properly utilize required PPE
Perform additional welding and fabrication duties as assigned
Leadership & Training Responsibilities
Assist with training and developing Class B and Class C Welders and Fitters
Provide guidance regarding welding techniques, quality expectations, and fabrication procedures
Promote teamwork, accountability, and high-quality workmanship
Help identify and resolve production or fabrication challenges
Support departmental supervisors in maintaining production schedules and daily commitments
Lead by example in safety, quality, productivity, and professional conduct

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and working in multiple welding positions
Ability to safely operate welding machines, powered tools, and manual fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around structural components, welding equipment, heat, sparks, fumes, and industrial machinery
Ability to perform physically demanding fabrication work throughout the workday
Work Environment
Industrial welding and fabrication environment
Regular use of FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding equipment
Hands-on work involving ASME code fabrication, fit-up, welding, and inspection requirements
Team-oriented environment working with supervisors, Welders, Fitters, and production personnel
Strong emphasis on safety, quality, 5S, continuous improvement, and meeting production schedules
