Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required
• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate required as applicable

Experience Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with a safe driving record
• Experience operating 53-foot dry van trailers and performing trailer spotting preferred
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements and vehicle safety procedures
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
• Previous local Class A CDL driving experience preferred
• Strong communication skills, time management and commitment to customer service
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment with occasional schedule flexibility

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit for extended periods while safely operating a commercial vehicle
• Ability to enter and exit the tractor and trailer multiple times throughout the workday
• Ability to perform DOT-required vehicle inspections and work safely in changing weather conditions
• No freight unloading required for this role

Job Duties

• Move loaded and empty 53-foot dry van trailers between dock doors, yard locations and nearby warehouse facilities
• Coordinate trailer swaps with relay drivers at designated locations
• Perform trailer spotting, yard movements and shuttle operations in a no-touch freight capacity
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and yard personnel to keep operations running smoothly
• Maintain a strong safety mindset and reliable, professional driving record
