Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Class B CDL Driver for a full-time delivery opportunity in Tulsa. This position is responsible for hauling and delivering metal materials to customers and job sites while maintaining safe load securement, accurate delivery documentation, and compliance with DOT requirements.
Candidates must hold a valid Class B CDL with an Air Brake Endorsement and be comfortable safely transporting, securing, loading, and unloading industrial materials.
Previous experience hauling metal, steel, construction materials, or other heavy industrial products is preferred.
Required Experience & Skills
Valid Class B CDL required
Air Brake Endorsement required
Clean driving record preferred
Commercial driving experience
Ability to safely operate a Class B commercial vehicle
Knowledge of DOT driving and safety requirements
Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Experience with proper load securement
Ability to safely load and unload materials
Strong attention to delivery and paperwork accuracy
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Professional communication skills
Strong commitment to safe driving and material handling
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate a Class B commercial vehicle safely
Haul metal materials to customer locations and job sites
Review assigned deliveries before departure
Verify materials and delivery information
Assist with loading materials as required
Properly secure loads before transportation
Inspect load securement throughout applicable deliveries
Follow assigned delivery routes and instructions
Unload materials safely at customer or job-site locations
Complete required delivery paperwork
Maintain applicable driver logs
Perform required pre-trip inspections
Complete post-trip vehicle inspections
Identify and report vehicle or equipment concerns
Follow DOT regulations and company driving policies
Maintain professional communication with customers
Perform additional delivery and material-handling duties as assigned
Metal & Material Delivery
Candidates may transport:
Metal products
Steel materials
Construction materials
Industrial products
Other heavy or fabricated materials
Drivers should understand the additional care required when transporting heavy, long, or industrial materials.
Load Securement
Proper load securement is an important responsibility of this position.
Drivers must be able to:
Verify loads before departure
Position materials appropriately
Secure materials for safe transportation
Inspect tie-downs and securement equipment
Identify potential load-shift concerns
Recheck loads when required
Follow applicable DOT and company securement procedures
Vehicle Inspection Responsibilities
Complete pre-trip inspections
Complete post-trip inspections
Inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other applicable vehicle components
Verify Air Brake systems are operating properly
Identify maintenance or safety concerns
Report vehicle problems promptly
Maintain required inspection documentation
DOT & Documentation Responsibilities
Follow applicable DOT regulations
Maintain required driver logs
Complete delivery paperwork accurately
Document applicable delivery information
Maintain applicable vehicle inspection records
Follow company transportation and safety policies
Maintain required CDL qualifications
Customer & Job-Site Responsibilities
Deliver materials professionally and on schedule
Communicate appropriately with customers and job-site personnel
Verify delivery locations and applicable instructions
Handle customer materials carefully
Maintain professional conduct while representing the company
Communicate delivery concerns or discrepancies promptly

Previous Class B delivery experience
Metal delivery experience
Steel hauling experience

Flatbed or similar material-hauling experience

Shipping or warehouse experience
Clean commercial driving record
Physical Requirements
Ability to safely enter and exit a commercial vehicle repeatedly throughout the workday
Ability to load, unload, and secure materials as required
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to handle applicable straps and load-securement equipment
Ability to perform vehicle inspections
Comfortable performing physically active delivery and material-handling responsibilities
Ability to safely work around trucks, industrial materials, and customer job sites
Ability to wear all required PPE
Work Environment
Combination of commercial driving, customer deliveries, and material handling
Regular transportation of metal and industrial materials
Deliveries may include customer facilities and active job sites
