About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Class B Machinist to support our manufacturing operations. This position requires a solid understanding of machining principles, experience operating both manual and CNC machines, and the ability to work from detailed instructions or blueprints. A Class B Machinist should be capable of handling less complex setups independently while assisting with more complex operations under supervision.

What Youll Do

• Set up and operate standard machine tools including lathes, mills, and other shop equipment
• Perform basic CNC machine operation (load programs, change tools, make offsets)
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and process documentation
• Inspect parts using standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Follow detailed setup instructions and production routers
• Maintain machines and tooling in good working order
• Identify and report any machining or quality issues to the lead or supervisor
• Support Class A Machinists and assist with more complex setups as needed
• Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures
• Keep work area clean, organized, and efficient
• All other duties as assigned

What Were Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
• Ability to perform basic machine setups and manipulate offsets.
• Working knowledge of manual and basic CNC machining processes
• Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal and written instructions
• Proficient with measuring tools and basic inspection procedures
• Basic understanding of tolerances and machining standards
• Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with G-code and simple CNC program edits
• Experience working under ISO or AS9100 quality systems
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or 5S environments
