About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools, and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses, and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites, and the Pacific Ocean. Antioch is known as the Gateway to the Delta" and is one of Californias oldest cities with a diverse community of approximately 100000. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screeningscoring of a candidates training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

Job Summary

These Substitute positions are for those not seeking permanent or regular work. It is for those that are interested in working on-call and as needed to cover during employee absences or position vacancies. This recruitment is NOT for the use of an eligibility list to employ permanent employees.

SELECTION PROCESS
