Title: Classroom Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Student Services or Designee
Job Goals: Enhance the quality of accessibility within the school and home setting to meet the needs of children with behavior and social challenges, using research-based approaches and best practices.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Classroom direct services and instruction within the sub-separate classroom
- Consult with team members on the development of Individualized Education Programs, goals and objectives, implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans, and timely completion of Progress Reports
- Assess progress and effectiveness of Behavioral Intervention Plans and curriculum modifications
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and behavioral observations, and develop appropriate Behavioral Intervention Plans as needed
- Consult with teachers in meeting the behavioral needs of students in both the general and special education settings and assist in the development of class-wide incentive plans and reinforcement systems.
- Implementation of the alternative curriculum within the ABA program
- Provide supervision of Paraeducators in consultation with the classroom teacher and building principal.
- Coordinate and facilitate Paraeducator training and provide staff with resources, tools and in-class modeling of techniques
- Participate in training to obtain credentials to become a Safety Care trainer, (de-escalation, restraint and behavior support program) and conduct staff training in Safety Care
- Respond to behavioral crises as need arises
- Provide consultation and recommendations to parents regarding behavior and social issues
- Assume such responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services or designee
- Adheres to the adopted policy of the Bellingham School Committee
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board).
- Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst, Massachusetts'' Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services.
- Experience as an educational and behavioral consultant.
- Experience as a consultant in the area of inclusion of students with Developmental Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Knowledge and familiarity with state and district curriculum standards.
