Job Summary
Join Colorado College as the Classroom Systems and Events Technician, where you''ll play a key role in delivering exceptional classroom technology support and event experiences that enhance teaching, learning, and campus engagement. The purpose of this role is to provide AV technical support for 190+ smart classrooms and learning spaces; perform lifecycle replacements of AV technology in these rooms as well as ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs; and provide professional technical support for events, meetings, and conferences requiring audio visual technology.
Responsibilities
Classroom AV Equipment Lifecycle Management:
Performs lifecycle replacement of classroom audiovisual equipment, including projectors, Crestron control components, amplifiers, speakers, projection screens, and associated cabling. Ensures equipment is properly installed, configured, and integrated to support reliable classroom functionality.
Classroom Technical Support:
Provides immediate, on-demand technical support to faculty experiencing issues within smart classrooms.
Diagnoses and resolves audiovisual and system-related problems to minimize instructional disruption and ensure continuity of classroom technology use.
Preventive Maintenance and System Reliability:
Conducts annual classroom preventive maintenance, including equipment cleaning, projector calibration and adjustments, and comprehensive system checks. Maintains system performance standards and proactively identifies and resolves potential issues.
Event AV Setup and Operations:
Coordinates the setup, troubleshooting, operation, and teardown of audiovisual equipment for classes and campus events.
Manages equipment such as lighting, cameras, speakers, microphones, projectors, mixers, and cabling.
Operates soundboards, lighting panels, and video systems during events across various venues, including large theaters, outdoor spaces, and conference rooms.
Event Consultation and Planning Support:
Consults with event organizers to assess technical needs, provide recommendations, and support event planning.
Anticipates equipment requirements and level of support needed to ensure successful execution and high-quality event delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.
