The School-to-Career Coordinator works with the high school staff to provide career-based learning opportunities for all students. Responsibilities include the promotion, organization, implementation, and evaluation of career-based experiences and other related duties for students in Grades 9 - 12. The School-to-Career Coordinator will work with various businesses in the Middlesex area to develop opportunities for students to obtain information and experiences about business operations and careers. The School-to-Career Coordinator also works with the high school staff to provide the promotion of college and post-secondary learning opportunities for all students. Support each Junior and Senior member of the student community through the organization of internships and work experience opportunities. Salary and benefits as oultined in the teachers contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Teaching Certification: Cooperative Work Education Certification (104) or the ability to obtain the (104) Certification, and any other secondary endorsement (Technology-047 or Business-010 preferred).
  • Prior experience with a high school career exploration program.
  • Prior experience with a college promotion and financial aid assistance program.
  • Prior experience with the Connecticut Personalized Learning Diploma requirement.
  • Effective communication skills requiring frequent contact with the public.
  • Skill in computer operations and use of programs involving Google Apps for Education.
  • Motivated and energetic.
  • Proficient organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through.

REPORTS TO: Building Administrator(s)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Schedule: Follows the teacher's schedule and contract

Salary and benefits as outlined in the teachers contract. See teachers contract. Position start August 24, 2026.
