Early Childhood Head Teacher

A state-licensed and Catholic Preschool, is seeking a Head Teacher to join our team immediately. We provide high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 18 months-5 in New Canaan, Connecticut. Required Educational Qualifications
- Must have an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Human Development, OR
- Must have an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus at least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
OR a CDA.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in a licensed preschool, child care center, or comparable early childhood setting serving children ages 3-5.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Familiarity with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), NAEYC standards, and Connecticut OEC/DPH licensing
requirements preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging learning experiences for preschool-aged children.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with children and families.
- Adhere to all program policies, accreditation standards, and state licensing regulations.
