St. Matthew School, a Catholic elementary school in Forestville, CT, is searching for a full-time Grade 2 teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops second grade students' skills and a love of learning. The candidate should be competent at lesson planning and instructing, specifically, ensuring students' spiritual and academic growth.
• Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, and physical growth.
• Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing.
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
• Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school's behavioral policies.
• Maintain positive communication with families through newsletters, daily updates, and as-needed outreach.
• Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
