Position Purpose

The K-8 Digital Learning & Enrichment Lab Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum and assessments, and supporting student growth in alignment with Village Charter School's mission and legal/regulatory requirements. Supporting the institutional mission to narrow the digital divide, the teacher manages a student-centered digital ecosystem, utilizing educational software platforms to facilitate student progress in Computer Science/Design Thinking and Personal Financial Literacy, while proctoring and monitoring introductory World Language digital modules across grades K-8 (if not certified in world language).

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a relevant subject.

New Jersey Certification/License:

  • Valid New Jersey teaching certificate appropriate to assignment (Standard, CE, or CEAS).
  • Acceptable configurations include: Elementary School Teacher (K-6) with an Elementary
  • Specialist endorsement (Math/Science 5-8); Teacher of Business: Comprehensive (1300); or a K-12 World Language endorsement or other acceptable certifications as determined by the school.

Note: VCS will consider sponsoring an Emergency Certificate or supporting a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) alternate route for certified candidates possessing strong technological aptitude and conversational Spanish skills.

  • Criminal background check and proof of legal employment status.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous classroom teaching, blended learning facilitation, or digital lab management experience.
  • Additional certifications or specialized training (computer technology, etc.).
  • Bilingual or conversational proficiency in Spanish.

Essential Functions / Specific Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans, instructional materials, and high-impact mini-lessons to supplement digital learning pathways.
  • Deliver instruction in assigned subjects using Board-approved curriculum and targeted digital platforms (e.g., coding software, financial literacy suites, language acquisition tools).
  • Use varied assessments, real-time student data, progress logs, and platform analytics to inform instruction, differentiate pathways, and implement student interventions.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate student learning, behavior, and attendance within a self-paced, technology-rich environment.
  • Maintain an environment that is safe, inclusive, high-energy, and conducive to independent learning and critical thinking.
  • Implement IEP modifications and ensure compliance with student accommodations.
  • Maintain positive communication with families regarding student progress and milestones within the enrichment lab.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development, particularly regarding instructional technology integration.
  • Complete administrative duties, records, progress reports, and quarterly grading as required.
  • Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and digital citizenship in classroom practice.
