Position: Humanities Teacher
Grades 9-12
Humanities Teacher Responsibilities
Stamford Big Picture Learning seeks to fill a high school humanities teaching position using the school-approved curriculum to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to achieve proficiency in accordance with Connecticut's Core Standards.
The teacher will be assigned to teach Humanities courses and must be comfortable instructing students in core skills and conceptual understanding, using real-world applications and hands-on experiences to help content come to life.
The teacher will maintain an emphasis on the instruction of academic disciplines that explore human experience, such as literature, history, philosophy, art, and languages. The teacher will focus on cultivating critical thinking, empathy, and cultural awareness by examining how humans have documented and made sense of the world throughout history.

Teaching salaries in Connecticut generally range from $50,000-$90,000; the salary will be commensurate with experience, degree and certification status, and other factors. SBPLA offers a generous benefits package.
