Position Overview

St. Bridget School is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The ideal candidate will foster a love of mathematics while creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment that meets the needs of a diverse group of learners.

A unique feature of this position is the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated Math Paraeducator, collaborating to provide differentiated instruction, targeted interventions, enrichment opportunities, and individualized support that enables all students to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Teach middle school mathematics courses in alignment with archdiocesan curriculum standards.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning.
  • Collaborate daily with the Math Paraeducator to plan and implement instructional strategies that support diverse learning needs.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all learners, including students requiring additional support and those seeking enrichment.
  • Utilize data and assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
  • Foster a classroom culture rooted in respect, inclusion, and high expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, faculty, and administration.
  • Integrate Catholic values and teachings into classroom life and interactions.
  • Participate fully in the life of the school community, including faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Connecticut teaching certification or eligibility for certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of middle school mathematics content and best instructional practices.
  • Experience working with diverse learners and implementing differentiated instruction.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Ability to create positive relationships with staff, students and families.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience co-planning and collaborating with support staff, interventionists, or paraeducators.
  • Familiarity with inclusive classroom practices and evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Experience using educational technology to enhance student learning.
