POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of talented employees for the 2026-27 School Year. CREC seeks talented Music teachers for a teaching position at our various magnet schools. Music teachers work under the general supervision of their school principal performing the essential performance responsibilities listed below.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district and national music standards, goals, and objectives
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for Music - this may be specific to grade; instrumental, choral or general music - and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including the needs of students with special needs; conduct individual and small-group instruction as needed
- Other duties as assigned by school administration

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
