Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Reading Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators in a school-based instructional setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in reading instruction and demonstrate a commitment to fostering literacy development for all students. This position requires expertise in evidence-based reading strategies and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality reading instruction aligned with CT Core Standards. • Utilize best practices in literacy, including explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. • Use of formative and summative assessments to guide instruction. • Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and support staff to ensure cohesive literacy support. • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed. • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes a love of reading.

Qualifications

Valid CTDOE certification in one of the following: Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts 1-12, 10 Elementary PK-6, 3 Demonstrated knowledge of current research and best practices in reading instruction. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.
