    Position Title: AnticipatedTeacher - Secondary Science

    Classification: 102, Certified CEA

    Reports To: Building Principal

    Effective Date: August 2026

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The CREC Academy of Computer Science & Engineering Middle School is in search of a middle school science teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Secondary Science teachers work under the general supervision of their school principal performing the essential performance responsibilities listed below.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
    • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning.
    • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for science, aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
    • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
    • Maintain a safe science classroom/laboratory.
    • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Develop student agency, ownership, self-advocacy, and effective communication skills with regard to learning.

    Science Teaching Competencies:

    • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for science, aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, providing opportunities for students to engage in science and engineering practices, build understanding of core disciplinary ideas and crosscutting concepts.
    • Teach and model science safety, including safe and appropriate use of various types of equipment. Maintain a safe science laboratory learning environment for all students.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
    • Certification Areas: Biology, 7-12 (030); Chemistry, 7-12 (031); Physics, 7-12 (032); Earth Science, 7-12 (033); General Science, 7-12 (034)
