As a Special Education Teacher at The Pinnacle School, you will create personalized academic and social-emotional learning experiences for students with complex learning challenges. Using evidence-based strategies and a collaborative approach, you'll help each student develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in special education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Connecticut certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification
- At least two years of experience teaching students with learning or emotional differences
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
What You'll Do
- Design and implement individualized lessons aligned with each student's IEP goals and learning style
- Support students' emotional regulation and coping skills using the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model
- Integrate social, executive functioning, and problem-solving skill development into daily instruction
- Collaborate with counselors, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive student support
- Maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom that fosters growth and curiosity
