Job Description:

Position Summary

Woodstock Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Resource Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in both push-in and pull-out settings. The successful candidate will collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to ensure students receive high-quality instruction, appropriate accommodations, and opportunities to achieve academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction aligned to student IEP goals and grade-level standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and student progress.
  • Participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Support inclusive educational practices and collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers.
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and intervention.
  • Foster a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with all federal, state, and district special education requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of special education instructional practices, assessment, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Certification Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Connecticut certification in Special Education (065 or 165) or eligibility for certification.
