Job Description:

Shared Services is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for our Integrated Preschool Program located at the Barkhamsted Elementary School in Barkhamsted Connecticut. For more information about this position, please visit: https://www.sharedservicesct.com/employmentopportunities

Requirements:

• A valid Connecticut Teaching Certificate
• Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and administration
• Implement Behavior support strategies based on evidence-based practices for preschool students with autism and emotional regulation
• Write and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans
• Write and implement comprehensive IEPs
• Serve as integral part of the IEP team as well as write developmentally appropriate goals for preschool students based on data
• Perform appropriate educational and developmental evaluations
• Demonstrate an understanding of early childhood academic development and skills
• Be knowledgeable of and able to implement positive behavior support for challenging behaviors
• Plan instruction to achieve objectives and meet the needs of all students
• Effectively implement instructional plans and ensure accommodations and modifications are made for the growth and development of all students
• Guide the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives
• Establish a positive learning environment
