Job Description:

1.0 FTE Special Education Resource Teacher needed for Milford Public Schools. The position is split .5 JFK Elementary School and .5 West Shore Middle School

The successful candidate will:

• Provide individualized instruction in accordance with students Individual Education Plans
• Develop Individual Education Plans in compliance with state and federal requirements
• Conduct assessments to determine students eligibility for special education and develop appropriate programs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related services staff, school personnel and families to design individualized student programs
• Supervise and provide direction to paraeducators
• Communicate effectively with school staff, families, and outside providers
• Facilitate Planning and Placement Team meetings, building or department committees as assigned
• Experience collecting student data, monitor progress toward students' IEP goals/objectives, implementing Behavior Intervention Plans, and collaborating with District Behavior Analyst(s)
• Monitor student progress and maintain data
• Ensure students receive an appropriate educational program in their least restrictive environment
• Knowledge and understanding of CT-SEDS with regards to compliance and legal obligations

This position is available for the start of the 2026-2027 school year

Current CT Special Education certification (165, 065 or 265) required.
