Qualifications
Bachelors Degree andor Masters in the content area
Must possess or be eligible for one of the following CTSDE Certifications165065 Comprehensive Special Education K-12
Salary
Salary work year and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the Board of Education and the Suffield Educators Association.
Period of Employment
Candidates are encouraged to apply for animmediate start however we are also accepting applications for those looking to begin at thestart of the 20262027 school year.
Reports to
Building Administrator Special Education Supervisor
Position Expectations
Design instruction to meet students academic and socialemotional needs
Integrate emotional and behavioral support into daily instruction
Use trauma informed and positive behavioral strategies to foster growth
Maintain a safe structured and supportive classroom environment
Administer analyze and interpret comprehensive academic evaluations
Write accurate and thorough assessment reports IEPs and progress reports.
Positively engage teachers students and families in the learning process.
Collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students.
Demonstrate knowledge of special education regulations and guidelines.
Demonstrate ability to assess student learning on a continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed.
