Certifications Required:
Teacher must hold current CT grade appropriate certification for the position (101, 023 or 013)

Summary:
The Milford Public Schools is looking for an Elementary World Language Spanish Teacher with expertise in the areas of Spanish to work directly with students and staff to effectively implement Milford's model of High Quality Instruction, design and deliver intentional instruction aligned to an accelerative and proficiency-based approach to language acquisition, and actively collaborate with classroom teachers around student growth toward the Vision of a Learner. The educators in this position have an understanding of the Developmental Relationship Framework and therefore utilize a collaborative approach in supporting learning for students and adults.
Responsibilities
Works directly with students and staff to effectively implement Milford's model of High Quality Instruction.
Serves with other members of the building-based HQI leadership team
Engages in collaborative cycles with teachers which focus on curriculum implementation, discipline specific learning progressions, or instructional practice (HQI).
Provides direct support/instruction to students in alignment with the district's strategy of acceleration and has expertise in the area of world language.
Plan daily academic, differentiated lessons and implement specific strategies to meet the language acquisition needs of all students.
Collaborates with instructional supervisors, building administrators, and educators
Uses educational technology and digital tools in order to enhance instruction when appropriate
Attends, shares and actively participates in professional learning opportunities, as well as stays abreast of relevant research, as appropriate in order to stay current in all areas related to elementary Spanish and instructional practice (HQI).
Participates in curriculum writing and revision process
Collaborate with others in weekly meetings including grade level team members, instructional coaches, and administration
Ensures consistent implementation of curriculum across all PK-5 classes
Reflect on successes and areas of growth as a teacher, seek to improve performance, and respond to feedback.
Maintains confidentiality regarding staff, student, and family information.
Performs other duties as assigned by building administrator or Instructional Supervisor
