Job Description:

POSITION: LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE SPANISH TEACHER Northwestern Middle School

START DATE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED

END DATE: Anticipated 12-weeks

This is an anticipated long-term substitute position to cover a leave of absence. Exact end dates may change based on the returning employees leave schedule.

CERTIFICATION:

• Spanish Secondary Education (023)
• Excellent Communication, Organizational, and Classroom management skills
• Willingness and ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals within the department and across other disciplines
• Passion for language instruction and cultural education

• PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a passionate, experienced Spanish Teacher to join our faculty in a long-term role. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop Spanish fluency while deepening their appreciation for Hispanic cultures.

Responsibilities:

• Teach Spanish language courses across grades 7-8.
• Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school events

COMPENSATION: This position is compensated at the BA-1 step of the current Northwestern Teachers Association (NTA) salary schedule, with placement subject to flexibility based on the candidates relevant experience and qualifications. This is a non-benefits-eligible position.
