Job Description:
Granby Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and collaborative educator to serve as the World Language Department Chair for grades 6-12 beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes teaching responsibilities in Spanish and/or French while providing instructional leadership and coordination for the district's World Language program.
The successful candidate will split responsibilities between Granby Memorial High School and Granby Memorial Middle School.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide leadership and coordination for the grades 6-12 World Language department
Support curriculum development, alignment, and instructional best practices
Facilitate department meetings and promote collaboration among staff
Analyze student performance data to support continuous program improvement
Collaborate with administration on department goals, budgeting, and program initiatives
Teach assigned Spanish and/or French courses
Foster an engaging, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
Support district initiatives and school improvement efforts
Co-evaluate staff in conjunction with building principals
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut certification required: 092 Intermediate Administrator and Supervisor
Connecticut certification in Spanish and/or French required
Certification in both Spanish and French preferred
Successful teaching experience at the secondary level preferred
Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
Commitment to high-quality instruction and positive student relationships
