Job Title: Mill Clean-Up / General Labor
Job Summary
We are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our team as Mill Clean-Up Workers. This is a physically demanding position that plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The mill relies on this team to keep work areas clean and operational, helping prevent equipment breakdowns, fire hazards, and workplace injuries.
This position is ideal for individuals who are comfortable performing strenuous manual labor in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas throughout the mill
• Shovel wet bark, wood debris, and other materials
• Remove scrap materials and dispose of them properly
• Lift and move boards and other materials throughout the shift
• Feed approved scrap materials into chippers and disposal systems
• Assist with preventing equipment downtime by keeping machinery and surrounding areas clean
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
This is a heavy labor-intensive position. Approximately 90% of the workday involves shoveling wet bark, lifting boards, handling scrap materials, and performing other physically demanding tasks. Employees should expect to work in a fast-paced industrial setting and be comfortable getting dirty while performing essential cleaning and maintenance duties.
The work performed by this position is vital to mill operations and helps prevent equipment failures, fires, and workplace accidents.
