Cleaning Lead

 Company Overview:United Commercial Services (UCS) is a Grand Rapids-based janitorial service contractor and has been part of the West Michigan community for two decades. UCS cleans over 12 million square feet each night, employs and manages over 230 people, and specializes in large facilities. Our goal at UCS is to provide superior service to our existing and new customers daily. We also strive to partner with our employees to be successful both personally and professionally. Typical hours are as follows:Monday-Friday. Hours: 7pm-3am Rotating weekday: Alternating Saturdays are 2:00 pm start 5 hours. Position Overview:We are currently seeking a Crew Lead to add to our team. The qualified candidate will have previous supervisory experience in a cleaning, retail, or hospitality environment. The Crew Lead is responsible for making sure that our employees are cleaning and maintaining the assigned property and to ensure that it meets United Commercial Services standards.Essential Functions:Responsible for assessing the quality of work performed by UCS employees.Perform individual janitorial tasks daily, including detailed cleaning of supervisor's own assigned areas. Provide training to new hires.Provide clear communication to UCS employees regarding issues, company updates and/or questions.Work with Managers to provide updates, requests, concerns regarding specific job sites.Make sure job site is being cleaned in conjunction with UCS standards. Ensure that each employee has proper equipment at the beginning of each shift.Ensure that each employee has taken care of all equipment and chemicals at the end of each shift.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Prior supervisory experience and/or extensive commercial cleaning experience required.Legally permitted to work in the US.Must be 18 years of age.Must pass a criminal background check.Must have reliable transportation.Effective communication skills.Ability to handle basic maintenance, repairs or other cleaning duties.Effective time management skills.
