Cleaning Specialist

Summary:

• Location: Altavista, VA
• Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Sun-Thu)

Responsibilities:

• Perform housekeeping and sanitation tasks in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
• Clean and sanitize manufacturing areas, raw ingredient, and packaging storage locations.
• Prepare and accurately mix cleaning chemicals according to approved procedures.
• Operate sanitation equipment, including self-propelled floor scrubbers, floor buffers, and chemical dispensing and cleaning equipment.
• Follow all safety, GMP, and sanitation requirements while performing assigned duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
• Operate a forklift or similar equipment when required by specific tasks (training provided and/or experience preferred).

Requirements:

• 0+ year of related experience in sanitation, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Preferred Skills:

• Forklift experience or certification.
• Previous experience in a food, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation requirements in a manufacturing environment, or the ability to quickly learn and apply sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately mix chemical cleaning solutions.
• Ability to follow written procedures and safety guidelines.
• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
