    POSITION SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Associate Director of Building and Security, the Cleaning Technician

    ensures all facilities are clean, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing to reflect the values of The King's University.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Position Specific Responsibilities

    • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping and dusting according to schedule.
    • Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained from trash or any misplaced items.
    • Perform cleaning responsibilities to campus restroom daily
    • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
    • Ensure all rooms and offices are cared for and inspected according to standards
    • Notify supervisor of any damages, deficits and disturbances
    • Adhere strictly to rules and policies regarding health and safety and be aware of any university related practices
    • Promptly clean up spills with appropriate equipment in accordance with university guidelines.
    • Ensure that all trash is collected and disposed of properly.
    • Properly clean upholstered furniture.
    • Keep supply room organized and orderly
    • Assist with preparing meeting rooms and event requests as needed.
    • Assist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing and sorting linens when needed.
    • Attend routine trainings as needed to ensure health and safety requirements are met.

    • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by governing entities (DOE, TRACS, ABHE, etc.); file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

    • Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED, required

    Experience:

    • Janitorial experience

    Competencies

    • Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.

    • General knowledge of housekeeping, maintenance and floor care.

    • Detail oriented and self-directed worker.

    • Positive attitude and approach to problem solving.

    • Proficient in spoken and written English

    • Ability to work with a team

    Other Requirements

    • Timeliness and reliability - must be able to meet TKU's work schedule which may vary based on business demands.
    • Criminal Background Verification

    MENTAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

    • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing throughout day.
    • Ability to lift as much as 50 pounds with assistance.
    • Maintain emotional control under stress
    • Occasional irregular hours
    • Able to work from an elevated position which could include ladders or lifts.
