Clerical Aide
Position Type: Temporary
Schedule: M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Assignment Length: Approximately 12-Months, possibly longer.
DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Clerical Aide to support the Family Self-Sufficiency Unit. This role involves a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to ensure accurate documentation and smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical and administrative duties to verify completeness of required documentation
- Respond to routine inquiries via phone, email, and in-person from participants, landlords, and the public
- Assist with assembling packets, notices, and informational materials
- Scan, upload, and index eligibility documents into housing management systems
- Track annual reexaminations, interim changes, inspections, and contract renewals
- Maintain participant case files for Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and other housing programs
- Provide clerical support to FSS Coordinators, Housing Specialists, and Supervisors
- Perform general office tasks including typing, photocopying, and faxing
- Ensure confidentiality of participant information in compliance with HUD regulations
REQUIREMENTS- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe or similar software
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (printer, copier, calculator)
- Experience entering and managing data in database systems (e.g., MRI or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Preferred Experience:
- Prior clerical or administrative experience in housing, government, or social services environments is a plus
