Job Title: Dock Clerk (2nd Shift – 3:00 PM to Close)

Location: DUNCANVILLE, TEXAS
Department: Shipping & Receiving, DOCKS
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Logistics Manager


Position Summary

The Dock Clerk is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all shipping and receiving activities within a food manufacturing facility during the 2nd shift. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper handling of goods, and compliance with food safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, and purchase orders
  • Coordinate dock activities including scheduling trucks and managing loading/unloading operations
  • Inspect shipments for damage, quality, and compliance with food safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records in warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or ERP systems
  • Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to ensure efficient dock flow
  • Ensure proper labeling, lot tracking, and documentation for food products
  • Monitor temperature-sensitive shipments and document readings as required
  • Enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) and inventory control procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dock areas in accordance with GMP standards
  • Report discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns promptly
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in food manufacturing or distribution
  • Familiarity with warehouse systems (WMS, ERP) preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures (including refrigerated areas)
  • Ability to work around forklifts and heavy equipment

Work Schedule

  • Shift: 3:00 PM to close (end time varies based on workload)
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required

Work Environment

  • Food manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, machinery, and temperature variations and smells
  • Must follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations (GMP, HACCP compliance)
