Position Details

  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Year-Round
  • Hourly Range: $31.19 - $35.25 / hour (DOE)
  • Benefits: Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick, Personal, Holidays) and a 401(a) retirement plan (6.5% employee contribution with 9% District match).

Position Summary Provides high-level administrative and operational support directly to the Director of Business and Financial Operations. Serves as a key point of contact for families, vendors, and district staff while ensuring seamless business office operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transportation Coordination: Primary Central Office contact for family inquiries, route/schedule changes with the depot, and initial response for transportation accidents or immediate issues. Partners on transportation improvement initiatives.
  • Cash Receipts & Student Fees: Manages student fees (including PowerSchool updates), family-paid tuition contracting/billing, and BOE cash receipts/town deposits.
  • Purchasing & Administrative Support: Processes Central Office expenditures and purchase orders. Provides operational support to Communications, coordinates facility rentals, and supports the High School Business Office as needed.
  • Compliance & Records: Collects and reviews Certificates of Insurance (COI) from vendors/renters. Maintains secure records of Central Office contracts and business documents.
  • Strategic Projects & Growth: Opportunity to support monthly/year-end financial reporting, district asset management, transactional HR, Accounts Payable backup (ADMINS software), internal cash-handling controls, and workflows moving toward cashless/paperless operations.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: High school diploma required (Associate/Bachelor's in business or accounting preferred). Prior administrative, financial, or municipal/school district experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Basic bookkeeping, secure cash handling, and database management skills. Experience with PowerSchool or ADMINS software is highly desirable. Tech-savvy with an emphasis on digital, paperless workflows.
  • Communication & Discretion: Exceptional customer service skills for handling sensitive situations (transportation issues, fee collections). Sharp attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
