Work under supervision of certified teacher.QualificationsEducationCertificationHigh school diploma or GEDMust successfully pass MISD Literacy Test and obtain a State Educational Assistant CertificateSpecial KnowledgeSkillsAbility to work well with childrenAbility to communicate effectivelyProficient knowledge MS Word software and file maintenanceEffective organizational communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets databases and word documentExperienceClerical Support Some experience working with childrenEssential Job FunctionsIf assigned to classroom the following duties are requiredAssist teacher if needed in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.Assist with administration of objective testing instruments or work assignments.Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher work with individual students or small groups.Help supervise students throughout school day inside and outside classroom.
