Clerk – Campus Office
Performs routine office, secretarial, and clerical tasks. Requires frequent personal and telephone contact with people inside and outside of the organization. Work with supervisor to complete assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED
- Special Knowledge/Skills: Problem solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience with data entry and record keeping
- Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience: One to two years related experience, preferably in school environment.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Communicate with parents, employees, students, and other individuals to answer questions and explain information.
- Assist with the registration of new students, including requesting and sending records, setting up cumulative folders, and entering student data into appropriate databases or computer programs.
- Create student files and ensure completeness of records and maintain records as needed.
- Maintain physical and computerized files including mailing lists, student records, visitor logs, student sign-in sheets, and office communication.
- Compile pertinent data as needed when preparing various state and local reports.
- Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, etc., for the campus administrative staff using personal computer.
- Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment used: Personal computer, printer, typewriter, multi-line phone system, copier, and fax machine.
Working Conditions: Administrative office environment with frequent interruptions, hectic pace, and short deadlines. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching. Occasional lifting and moving of moderate to heavy objects.
