Clerk Customer Service Specialist
Location: 315 Court Street, Clearwater, FL 33756
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with the occasional 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Are you a customer service superstar?
This is a Clerk Customer Service Specialist position within the Recording Services Department of the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller's Office. Clerk Customer Service Specialists assist the general public, record all recordable documents into the Official Records of Pinellas County, and cashier transactions while performing an assortment of duties and work processes based on the specific area of assignment. Clerk Customer Service Specialists also issue Marriage Licenses, Perform Marriage Ceremonies, and Serve as an Official Passport Application Acceptance Agent for the U.S. Department of State. Staff in these positions will have heavy daily customer contact with the general public. The area of assignment can include any department under the Clerk of the Circuit Court. Clerk Customer Service Specialists exercise a high degree of independent judgment based on experience and knowledge of department operations. Deviations from standard policies and procedures are referred to a higher level for decision.
What Would You Do?
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting members of the public in person.
- Record and index official documents into the Official Records of Pinellas County with a high degree of accuracy.
- Issue marriage licenses and perform marriage ceremonies for couples on one of the most memorable days of their lives.
- Become U.S. Department of State Passport Acceptance Agent and assist customers with passport applications.
- Perform cashiering functions by accurately processing financial transactions through a case management system, including cash, credit card, check, and escrow account payments.
- Balance and reconcile daily monetary transactions, financial records, and closing reports.
What Do You Need To Have?
- Two (2) years of customer service, cashiering, administrative, or clerical experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work professionally and courteously with a diverse population.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing documents and entering data.
- Computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new software.
- Experience handling cash and processing financial transactions accurately.
- Ability to become a U.S. Department of State Passport Acceptance Agent.
