Responsible for maintaining all juvenile probation case files in the central file room in an orderly sequence. Files documentation in juvenile case files. Prepares case files for storage at County warehouse. Requests stored files from warehouse. Utilizes computer to record, store, and retrieve information. Determines, reviews, prepares, and refers files for scanning and destruction. Copies or scans documents and files. Provides backup relief to receptionist. Assists with the mail.
High school diploma or equivalent. Six months (6) related work experience. Basic data entry, keyboarding, word processing, and general computer skills. Accuracy in filing and assignment of numbers to juvenile case files. Ability to function as a team member, sharing responsibilities as needed. Incumbent must have good interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with the members of the public, employees, other County departments, the judiciary and defense bar. The ability to deal with confidential information regarding County business and clients records. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a County van. Must be eligible to become certified as a notary public. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, push, pull, climb, and reach. There is occasional dust with the pulling of files and records. The office is also occasionally noisy from the high volume of traffic.
