Job ID 29321 Job Description The Clerk assists the Service Center and performs any combination of clerical duties. Responsibilities Type or enter information into computer to prepare correspondences.Prepare, issue and send out receipts, bills, policies, invoices, statements and checks.Issues licenses, permits, certificates, writs or other legal documents and/or titles.Receive money from customers, deposit money in bank and handle petty cash, as needed.Open and route incoming mail, answer correspondences and prepare outgoing mail.Answer telephone calls, convey messages and run errands.Stamp or number forms by hand or machine and photocopy documents.Proofread records or forms, sort and file records and index records and information.Tabulate and post data in record books.Transfer information from reports, code numerically and post to prepared code sheet, ledger or journal.Compute wages, taxes, premiums, commissions and payments.Count, weigh, check, analyze, measure and/or classify materials.Conduct limited research as requested.Maintain a highly positive attitude in a highly intense environment.Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.Other duties and projects, as assigned. Requirements Education:High School Diploma / GED, requiredExperience:Prior experience in billing, collections, tracing, OS&D and the transportation industry, preferredPrior experience in data entry and other clerical skillsComputer Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, requiredAdditional Requirements:Ability to operate various office equipment, required Other Details Work Hours:Generally Monday through Friday, evening, and daytime shifts. Must be willing to work evenings and on an as-needed basis.Travel Requirements:Minimal (0%-25%)Compensation:This is a hourly position paid weekly.Variable compensation is included.In accordance with the Massachusetts Wage Transparency Act, the starting pay rate for this position is $ per hour.
