Responsibilities
The part-time Clerk III provides advanced clerical, administrative, and financial support services to department. Scans documents, provides receptionist duties, and maintains meeting schedules.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Scans, files, and maintains tracking log of stored documents.2. Answers telephone and forwards messages.3. Responds to inquiries from internal & external customers and makes appropriate referrals. 4. Reserves meeting rooms and maintains meeting schedules.5. Prints and distributes documents and reports.6. Collects, processes, and distributes mail.7. Enters purchase requisitions and orders supplies.8. Assists with department travel arrangements.9. Enters and reconciles financial transactions in PeopleSoft modules such as journal entries and budget amendments.10. Compares payment vouchers to supporting documentation prior to payments being mailed. 11. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.2. One year of clerical experience in an office environment.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Six months of experience with PeopleSoft data entry or processing.2. Experience with bookkeeping or accounting. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:1. General office skills. 2. Excellent customer service and telephone skills.3. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).4. Excellent skills in data entry and processing.5. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.6. Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and handle multiple tasks in an efficient manner.7. Ability to operate personal computer, related software, and peripheral equipment.8. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor and interact effectively with students, staff, and faculty.9. Committed to working in a multicultural environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:1. Work in an office environment.2. Flexible days and hours.3.
