CLERK

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Landfill

HIRING RANGE: $20.47-$22.74/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.(April-November Saturday 9:00am to 11:45 am)-Some Holidays required

LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart County Landfill

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and performing a variety of clerical and bookkeeping tasks. Serves as a backup Fee Collector, including entering account information, obtaining weights, calculating charges, and processing payments by cash, credit card, check, or account.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or equivalent with clerical experience
• Excellent organizational and communications skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures/practices
• Ability to make practical applications of local, state, and federal regulations, Indiana statutes, and standard policies and procedures governing landfill operations as set forth by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management
• Pre-employment background check
