Position Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused Sales Clerk to support both in-store sales and customer service operations in a manufacturing and distribution environment. This position works closely with production, engineering, and sales teams to provide outstanding customer service while assisting with sales transactions, inventory management, and order processing.

The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced customer-facing role.
Required Experience & Skills
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer proficiency and data entry experience
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Positive attitude and willingness to learn technical products
Reliable attendance and professional demeanor REQUIRED
Ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service
Respond to product inquiries and assist customers with product selection
Develop and maintain knowledge of products, applications, and features
Process cash, credit card, and debit card transactions accurately using POS systems
Enter and process customer orders, including special and custom orders
Handle customer returns and exchanges professionally and efficiently
Maintain organized displays and restock inventory as needed
Ensure sales areas remain clean, organized, and presentable
Communicate current promotions, discounts, and customer programs
Perform data entry and maintain accurate customer and sales records
Work closely with production, engineering, and sales personnel to support customer needs
Preferred Qualifications
Previous retail, sales, customer service, or counter sales experience
Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems
Inventory control or merchandising experience
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, construction supply, or industrial environments
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
Ability to lift and move inventory or merchandise up to 50 lbs as needed
Frequent use of computers, POS systems, and office equipment
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy
Work Environment
Customer-facing retail and sales environment within a manufacturing operation
Fast-paced setting requiring multitasking and strong communication skills
Frequent interaction with customers, production personnel, and sales staff
Team-oriented environment focused on customer satisfaction and service excellence
