Client Liaison - Healthcare

Our team of professionals includes architects, MEPTC engineers, interior designers, energy engineers, landscape architects, construction administration professionals, and administrative and support staff—all working collaboratively to serve clients’ needs, build stronger communities, and improve lives.

Schmidt Associates is seeking a Client Liaison to support and grow our Healthcare Studio. This individual will play a critical role in expanding our presence in the healthcare market by cultivating new client relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, and helping shape strategic project outcomes. This role requires a strong blend of business development, industry insight, and client-centered leadership.

Key Responsibilities for Healthcare Projects:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with healthcare systems, providers, administrators, and community stakeholders to identify opportunities and build long-term partnerships.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through complex healthcare planning, design, and delivery processes, with a focus on aligning built environments to clinical workflows and patient care goals.
• Lead the development of strategic project approaches that address the unique regulatory, operational, and technological demands of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, outpatient centers, specialty clinics, and community health environments.
• Partner with internal design teams and external consultants to deliver solutions that enhance patient experience, improve staff efficiency, and support evidence-based design practices.
• Provide insight into healthcare-specific considerations such as infection prevention, patient safety, regulatory compliance (e.g., FGI Guidelines), and evolving care delivery models.
• Stay current on healthcare trends, including ambulatory care growth, telehealth integration, behavioral health environments, sustainability in healthcare, and flexible/adaptable facility design.
• Support pursuit strategies, including client presentations, proposals, and thought leadership efforts that position Schmidt Associates as a leader in healthcare design.

Qualifications:

• Professional experience in the AEC industry with a strong focus on healthcare projects and clients.
• Demonstrated success in client development, relationship management, and strategic positioning within the healthcare sector.
• Deep understanding of healthcare facility planning, operations, and regulatory environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence both clients and internal teams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive growth.

Experience/Education:

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
• PE or AIA licensure required
• Project Management experience preferred
