Rapid Response Specialist
About the Role
Do you love caregiving and want to grow into a leadership or office role? This job is half-hand-on care and half office support. When a caregiver calls out or there’s an emergency, you step in so our clients keep getting care. The rest of the time you work with our office team on scheduling, recruiting, onboarding and keeping caregivers engaged. If you want a path from the field into leadership or administration, this role is built for that.
What You’ll Do
Client care and rapid response
• Cover in-home care visits on short notice when there are call-outs, emergencies or schedule changes
• Travel around the local service area as needed
• Watch for changes in a client’s condition and report them to the office team
Onboarding caregivers and clients
• Lead in-office caregiver orientations, and shadow and mentor new caregivers in the field
• Help bring on new clients: initial care visits, home safety walkthroughs, and making sure care plans are followed correctly
Scheduling and operations
• Work with the scheduling team to fill open shifts and handle last-minute changes
• Help coordinate caregiver schedules so every client is covered
Recruiting and retention
• Help recruit caregivers, including going to job fairs and interviewing candidates
• Pass along feedback from the field and help recognize caregivers who do great work
Training and growth
• Cross-train with office staff on documentation, scheduling software and HR processes
• Take internal training on compliance, client service and operations
• Take on-call shifts, answering after-hours calls from caregivers and clients
Schedule
• Maintain availability during scheduled hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
• Ensure coverage for assigned shifts, with flexibility to travel within your assigned service area (Baltimore County, Maryland, and surrounding areas).
• Be available for additional hours and assignments as needed.
• At least 40 hours a week. We provide care 24/7, 365 days a year, so some evenings and weekends will be needed, and your schedule may change from week to week.
• About one on-call week every three weeks
Pay
• $17.50/hour (about $36,400 a year), paid every Friday
• On-call pay: $25 for each weekday on call (outside business hours) and $50 for each weekend day
• With on-call pay, expect about
$41,000+ a year in total
• Business mileage paid at the IRS rate
Benefits
• Two weeks of paid time off (earned at 0.05 hours per hour worked, up to 80 hours in your first year)
• After 60 days, a medical insurance stipend that covers 40% of your premium, up to $175/month
• Paid training, with a clear path to leadership and office roles
• Flexible schedule, with some chances to work remotely
What You Need
• Caregiving experience (lead or mentoring experience is a plus)
• A valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle and current auto insurance that meets Maryland requirements
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Flexible and calm when plans change at the last minute
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Comfortable learning scheduling software and other office tools
• Must finish a 60-day training period
Location
100 West Road, Suite 300, Towson, MD 21204. This is not a remote job; most of the work is in the field and at the office.
