Client Relationship Manager | Burton on Trent | £53,000–£55,000 | Plus Up to 15% bonus | Company Car | Full-time (Hybrid)
This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, globally recognised tyre manufacturer, working within their Sales team in Burton on Trent. It's a business that pairs serious engineering credibility with close, long-standing customer relationships, and this role sits right at the heart of that. Once you're up to speed, you'll take the lead on a small portfolio of major, high-value and genuinely prestigious accounts, so the focus here is firmly on depth of relationship rather than sheer volume.
The Role
Reporting to the Original Equipment Sales Director, you'll take ownership of your customers, looking after the relationships, the numbers, the service, and everything in between. You'll be the go-to person for your accounts and a key link between them and the wider business.
You'll be the main point of contact for your accounts, building trust and keeping everything running smoothly.
- Take ownership of key customer outcomes and results
- Build strong relationships, internally and externally, through a consultative, advisory approach
- Handle sales negotiations and keep customers supplied with clear, accurate information
- Attend customer meetings, both commercial and technical, including R&D and engineering discussions
- Monitor customer satisfaction each month and resolve any disputes as they arise
A big part of this role is staying on top of the numbers and turning them into insight.
- Manage the market coverage tool and pull together market share data for group reporting
- Run the CRM process and attending the weekly and monthly meetings
- Analyse new product quotations
- Keep internal customer records accurate and up to date
You'll work closely with R&D and Quality to keep everything on track and compliant.
- Liaise with R&D and Quality to manage timelines and customer requirements
- Manage external audit requirements
- Handle product updates and description changes driven by legislation
- Oversee stock availability and the relevant planning meetings

This role will suit someone commercially sharp, comfortable with data, and genuinely at home in the automotive world.
- Solid customer-facing experience within a large commercial environment, ideally in the tyre or automotive industry
- A good grasp of sales and market analysis, with the confidence to interpret the numbers and act on them
- Degree-level education (a business-related degree is a real plus)
- Strong financial acumen - you'll be comfortable with P&L and the commercial detail
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- A solution-focused, resilient approach and the organisation to juggle priorities and hit deadlines
- Good IT skills, including Excel
- A full UK driving licence, plus the flexibility to travel and stay away when needed (Most likely 2-3 days away per month)
