Co-op Program Overview
The Arrowstreet Co-op Program provides an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the institutional asset management industry and Arrowstreet as a company while gaining deep experience within a specific function. Job Overview
The role is positioned within the larger Business Development and Client Relationship Management department. The candidate will have the opportunity to support several groups within the department including Client Reporting, Client Services Operations, and Performance and will collaborate cross functionally with teams such as Investment Analytics, Funds, Finance, Investment Services and Compliance.
The Client Reporting co-op role is primarily focused and has an integral role in supporting the overall client experience in terms of client and investor month end reporting. The co-op role provides the opportunity to participate and learn across the team, in addition to providing the opportunity to participate in some complementary tasks within the Client Services Team. The co-op will gain valuable experience with a wide range of daily responsibilities while contributing to both ongoing processes as well as strategic initiatives. This role provides an excellent opportunity in a fast-paced client-focused environment to gain broad exposure and insight into the inner workings of an investment manager.
Responsibilities
Contribute to initiatives and processes relating to the Client Reporting team that will add value to the end client
Contribute to the monthly portfolio reconciliation review and reporting process through conducting month-end analyses on portfolio records via custodial bank portals
Work on and assist with various client reporting operational deliverables and ad hoc requests
Maintaining internal client data system and ensuring client information in internal systems is complete and accurate
Support the audit confirmation processes
Maintain and own checklists, procedures, and process documentation
Provide support for strategic project initiatives
Process improvement on existing tasks and look for ways to gain efficiency and reduce risk
Collaborate directly with manager to identify a co-op project that will improve functionality within the team encompassing skills and knowledge learned during the program and present findings of project at the completion of project/end of co-op
Qualifications
Strong academic record in the undergraduate program preferably with a focus on finance, accounting, or data science
A positive attitude with enthusiasm and maturity
Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (knowledge of SQL and/or Python is ideal but not required)
Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments across multiple teams
Committed to delivering a high-quality work product and seeing assignments through to completion
Detail-oriented with a strong curiosity in how things work and how to improve processes
Works well in a team environment and can also excel as an independent contributor
A strong interest in the investment management industry
The hourly wage range for this position is $21-$29 per hour.
