Position Summary

As the Oncology Client Liaison, you will serve as the primary non-clinical point of contact for oncology patients and their families. You will guide clients through the referral and treatment process, coordinate communication between departments, support appointment scheduling, and ensure a seamless, compassionate experience throughout their pet's cancer care journey.

This role requires exceptional communication skills, empathy, emotional intelligence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty environment. Compensation is based on experience, skills, education, and credentials. Pay Range: $20-$24/hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for oncology clients before, during, and after appointments.
  • Coordinate new patient referrals and scheduling for Medical and Radiation Oncology services.
  • Communicate with referring veterinarians regarding appointments, records, and follow-up information.
  • Educate clients regarding appointment expectations, treatment timelines, and hospital processes.
  • Facilitate communication between oncology doctors, technicians, and client service teams.
  • Ensure medical records, referral information, and diagnostic results are received and appropriately documented.
  • Perform follow-up calls to support continuity of care and enhance the client experience.
  • Maintain departmental email communication and assist with oncology workflow management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the referral and communication experience for clients and referring hospitals.
  • Support hospital initiatives focused on patient care, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine, healthcare, hospitality, or a customer-focused environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred

  • Experience in specialty veterinary medicine, oncology, referral medicine, or healthcare coordination.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical records.
  • Experience supporting clients through complex or emotional healthcare situations.
