Overview

Client Systems Technician Location: Hurlburt Field, FL, JBSA, TX, and Keesler AFB, MS Job Status: Full time Clearance: Secret

Astrion has an exciting opportunity coming up for a Client Systems Technician to join our team and support the 39th Information Operations Squadron (39 IOS). We are preparing to hire for Journeyman, Senior, and SME levels. We anticipate a start date in March/April 2026.

Cyber Operations Formal Training Support III (CyOFTS III) is a Cyber Schoolhouse program supporting delivery, development, and sustainment of cyber training across operationally relevant mission sets. The team supports instruction, curriculum and content development, training operations, and program execution at multiple Air Force and joint training locations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Active secret clearance
  • Education and experience depend on the skill level. Will require previous IT experience in support to the defense sector.
  • IAT/M Level II certification required

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide client systems technical support consistent with the Client Systems Technician labor category.

Support end-user systems and technical support activities aligned to the DCWF Technical Support Specialist work role.

You will perform Token Agent duties including, but not limited to:

  • Issuing, resetting Personal Identification Numbers (PIN)
  • Logging in with them regularly to keep them active
  • Asset tracking
  • Auditing
  • Creating, deleting, modifying and documenting user accounts using AF, base, and unit policies

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware including but not limited to:

  • Keyboards
  • Mice
  • Cameras
  • Microphones
  • Hard Drives
  • Random Access Memory (RAM)
  • Network Interface Cards (NIC)
  • Power Supplies
  • Video Cards
  • Sound Cards

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain software including, but not limited to:

  • Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI)
  • Basic Input Output System (BIOS)
  • Operating Systems
  • System Images
  • IP Address Configurations
  • Drivers
  • Client Software

You will configure security settings including but not limited to:

  • Industry best practices and DoD standards

You will perform Vulnerability Management including, but not limited to:

  • Installing anti-virus software
  • Updating virus definitions
  • Ensuring security patches are installed

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain printers including, but not limited to:

  • IP Addresses
  • Security updates
  • Replacing toner and ink cartridges
  • Replacing drums
  • Clearing paper jams
  • Cleaning the systems
  • Adding systems to the domain
  • Mapping file shares
  • Mapping printers

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain, monitor, video displays and Keyboard Video Mouse (KVM) systems system backups and perform system restoration.

You will provide telephone support by installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining mobile devices including, but not limited to:

  • Cell phones and tablets
  • Creating and revising user instructions, procedures, manuals and training users in procedures they can perform themselves

You will coordinate warranty and depot repair with the appropriate vendors.

You will create scripts to automate tasks and technical documentation for routine work tasks including but not limited to:

  • PowerShell
  • Bash

Create and maintain documentation for all installs and changes including but not limited to the Workstation Layout along with inspecting equipment for Quality Control for each installation and maintenance repair.

You will maintain Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS) at customer desks which involves, but is not limited to:

  • Monitoring the unit
  • Removing and replacing batteries
  • Removing and replacing the whole unit

Document support actions and maintain system support records as applicable.
