The Client Technology Consultant III - AI Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting Dartmouth's institutional AI platform operations. They are responsible for provisioning, licensing, security and data compliance, vendor relationship management, and financial reconciliation to ensure the responsible and effective deployment of AI tools across the Dartmouth community.
Description Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Experience in technology operations, IT administration, or client-facing technology support role.
- Familiarity with SaaS platform administration, license management, and user provisioning.
- Understanding of data privacy and security concepts including FERPA and institutional data governance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and support procurement processes.
- Experience tracking budgets, contracts, or software licensing costs.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage project work.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on teams and lead team initiatives.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an academic environment.
- Familiarity with AI platforms such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar enterprise AI tools.
- Experience with IT procurement, contract management, or software asset management.
- Familiarity with information security review processes or compliance frameworks.
- Technology-related professional certifications.

Description
AI Platform Operations and Provisioning -
- Manages provisioning and deprovisioning of AI platform licenses and seats across institutional AI tools including Claude for Education and other sanctioned platforms.
- Maintains and audits user access, roles, and permissions within AI platform administrative consoles.
- Monitors platform usage, capacity, and license utilization to inform procurement decisions.
- Coordinates onboarding of new AI features, connectors, and integrations in alignment with institutional policy.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day AI platform administration and operational support.
Percentage Of Time 50 Description
Security, Data Compliance, and Vendor Management -
- Partners with Information Security and appropriate stakeholders to conduct and support ITC Third-Party Application Reviews for AI tools and integrations.
- Ensures AI platform configurations align with FERPA, institutional data governance policies, and Dartmouth's Information Security standards.
- Manages vendor relationships with AI platform providers including Anthropic and others, coordinating contract requirements, data processing agreements, and roadmap updates.
- Monitors emerging AI capabilities, follows industry best practices, and flags features requiring security or compliance review before institutional enablement.
- Maintains documentation for approved AI tools, data handling agreements, and compliance status.

Training, Documentation, and Support -
- Develops and maintains knowledge base materials related to access, provisioning, and compliance guidance.
- Supports faculty, staff, and student onboarding of institutional tools.
- Collaborates with CTC colleagues and ITC partners to share operational knowledge and build institutional capacity.
- Provides advanced technology support for computers, devices, and software.
- Acts as Business Relationship Manager for client departments and consults with clients on technology use and solutions.
- Provides advanced support for accounts and access.
Percentage Of Time 20 Description
Financial Reconciliation and Reporting -
- Tracks and reconciles AI platform licensing costs against departmental budgets.
- Processes purchasing requests and maintains accurate records of subscriptions, renewals, and expenditures.
- Prepares usage and cost reports to support financial planning and leadership decision-making.
- Identifies opportunities to optimize licensing spend based on utilization data.
