The Clinic Behavioral Health Therapist provides psychotherapy and social work services for patients and families dealing with mental health and substance use disorders, life stressors and crises, and stress-related physical symptoms. This role assists with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of these conditions. Working under general supervision, this role conducts psychosocial assessments, designs and implements treatment plans, and organizes therapy sessions to manage the recovery of patients suffering from behavioral health issues.
Essential Job Function:
Conducts psychosocial assessments to better understand a patient's diagnosis, illness, or treatment through investigating emotional, social, and environmental factors.
Designs and implements behavioral health treatment plans to help patients return to optimal functioning.
Maintains knowledge of and relationships with community health and social agencies to expand the behavioral health services available to patients via collaboration or referral.
Educates the patient and family on behavioral health treatment care processes and options to inspire confidence and continue recovery once discharged.
Documents patient care and treatment response with accuracy and timeliness in medical records to monitor recovery process.
Advocates for patients during the provision of care to manage potential ethical concerns or other risks.
Leverages their experience to review the work of junior colleagues and provide guidance when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Required: Masters or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
Experience:
Required: 2 years of clinical experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
Required: One or more of the following licensures: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) Supervisor, License Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or or Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) - Independent Practice.
