Dental Assistant  Duties & Responsibilities:

• 
  APrepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures.
  
• 
  Assist the dentist by sterilizing instruments, suctioning, and passing instruments.
  
• 
  Prepare and handle dental materials and supplies.
  
• 
  Perform dental X-rays and assist with study casts.
  
• 
  Fabricate temporary restorations and clean removable appliances.
  
• 
  Assist with dental and medical emergencies; maintain CPR and emergency supplies.
  
• 
  Provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions.
  
• 
  Document dental care and maintain patient confidentiality.
  
• 
  Follow infection-control, safety, and sanitation protocols.
  
• 
  Maintain professional knowledge and complete required training.
  

Minimum Qualifications 

• 
  Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six(6) months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  
• 
  Minimum of one (1) year of Dental Assisting experience required.
  
• 
  EFDA experience.
  
• 
  CPR Certification
  
• 
  Six (6) hour x-ray training certification.
  
• 
  Nitrous oxide certification; Coronal polishing certification.
  
• 
  High school diploma or GED.
  
• 
  Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
  
• 
  Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
