Dental Hygienist Duties & Responsibilities:

• 
  GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment operation may be required. 
  
• 
  Provide oral hygiene dental treatment and oral hygiene care and education in accordance with guidelines approved, issued, and regulated by the state in which they work. 
  
• 
  Apply fluoride and protective sealants. 
  
• 
  Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above and below the gum line. 
  
• 
  Provide nutritional counseling and self-care programs to prevent disease. 
  
• 
  Record and review patient medical histories. 
  
• 
  Uphold office policy including HIPAA & OSHA. 
  
• 
  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
  
• 
  Order and keep track of inventory as needed. 
  
• 
  Other duties as assigned.  
  

 Physical Demands: 

• 
  The employee frequently is required to talk and hear; stand and/or sit for long periods of time; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 
  
• 
  The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. 
  
• 
  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to blood and blood-borne pathogens and/or physical risks, which will require OSHA training. 
  

Minimum Qualifications 

• 
  Current, valid, and unrestricted DE license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
  
• 
  DH State license, X-Ray Cert.
  
• 
  High school diploma or equivalent is required
  
• 
  Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene school.
  
• 
  One (1) year of hands-on experience as a hygienist.
  
• 
  Certifications & Licensure: -Anesthesia
  
• 
  GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment operation experience.(Some locations require GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy operational experience.)
  
• 
  Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
  
• 
  Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents.
