Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Urology

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary
The LPN provides comprehensive nursing care to urology patients, including assessment, treatment, patient education, documentation, and clinical support. The LPN works closely with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and document new and established urology patients.
• Assist physicians with examinations and urological office procedures.
• Perform clinical skills including catheterization, uroflow/PVR testing, urodynamic testing, urinalysis, venipuncture, and intravesical medication administration.
• Administer medications and treatments, including injections, dressing changes, and catheterizations.
• Review physician orders, labs, follow-up needs, and communicate results with patients.
• Assist with surgical preparation, clearances, and pre-procedure testing.
• Respond to patient calls, triage concerns, and coordinate same-day appointments when appropriate.
• Provide patient education regarding urological conditions, treatments, and procedures.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and protect patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgical scheduling, and other clinical staff.
• Follow all HIPAA, safety, compliance, and organizational policies.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current LPN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• 6 months–1 year of nursing experience preferred, ideally in urology.
• Strong communication, organization, critical thinking, and patient-service skills.
• Comfortable using EMR systems and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
